Rocky Mountaineer
Virtual Tour
The Rocky Mountaineer is a luxury sightseeing train that offers scenic rail journeys through some of the most spectacular landscapes in North America. Founded in 1990, the train is famous for its glass-domed coaches, allowing passengers to enjoy panoramic views of mountains, rivers, forests, and wildlife while traveling through regions such as the Canadian Rockies and the American Southwest.

Bringing the Rocky Mountaineer Journey to Life Through an Interactive Virtual Tour
For this project, I designed and developed an interactive virtual tour for the Rocky Mountaineer, assembling panoramic scenes, video content, and interface elements into a cohesive digital experience. The goal was to give potential travelers an engaging preview of the onboard atmosphere while exploring the train’s iconic surroundings and scenic routes.
The experience combines 360° panoramas with interactive video moments that are seamlessly integrated into the tour, helping recreate the feeling of being on the journey itself. Users can move through different areas of the train while discovering key features of the onboard experience, creating a more dynamic exploration than a traditional gallery or brochure.
A central design goal was to clearly communicate the differences between the SilverLeaf and GoldLeaf service levels while maintaining a clean and intuitive interface. Because the audience for luxury rail travel often includes older travelers, the UI/UX was designed to be simple, accessible, and easy to navigate, ensuring the experience remains engaging without overwhelming the user.
